Fill out a Change of Address form with USPS to ensure your mail is automatically forwarded to your new address.
When moving into a brand new home or a house that hasn't previously received mail, you'll need to bring the deed to the house to your local postmaster's office. He or she will verify the address and add it to the USPS system, allowing you to receive mail. Note that new addresses can take several weeks to be updated with third parties, like credit card companies, and may return "invalid address" errors in the meantime.
